The Electrical Controls Engineer will:- Develop new methods, tooling and machine designs and resolve processing issues/problems involved in the manufacturing of shells, primers, and/or bullets in the ammunition plants. - Determine design requirements, prepare specifications and drawings, procure necessary materials and services and coordinate installation and maintenance systems for new automation projects. - Be responsible for programming and designing PLC controls for new equipment. - Support and troubleshoot equipment with control systems including PLCs, HMIs and SCADA. - Improve yields, lower costs, and increase manufacturing uptime by supporting plant. - Provide a communication bridge between engineering and productions floor. - Investigate and troubleshoot production difficulties and take corrective measures. - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline - 2+ years experience supporting, troubleshooting and programming Allen Bradley and/or Omron controls systems- Experience with specifying, installing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment with automatic controls systems for material handling, defect inspection, robotic placement, vision systems and process control- Experience within a high speed manufacturing setting- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing- Familiarity with high volume metallic parts manufacturing operations and equipment - Experience managing complex projects- Candidate must have ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal)- Due to government imposed security requirements, only U.S. Citizens will be considered
- MS Engineering and/or MBA - Hands-on experience with Six Sigma tools and techniques and lean manufacturing concepts- Small caliber ammunition manufacturing experience- CAD training - Statistical/DOE experience
