Position Description:You’re experienced in planning appetizing menus for weeks or months at a time while also preparing top-notch short orders, and you want a new challenge. How about running the kitchen at our employee cafeteria? We’re Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. and we’re seeking a Grill Cook for the cafeteria at our Springfield, IL, headquarters.This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Springfield Illinois. This position is part-time working the hours of 6:30am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday. Nights, weekends and major holidays off.You will be expected to work independently.General Responsibilities:• Prepares and cooks to order food that may require short preparation time.• Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal and state guidelines.• Creating menus and ordering and inventorying all product. • Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment. • Clean and sanitize work stations.• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift 50lbs. Success Skills:In order to be successful at LRS as a Cook you should be able to demonstrate the following skills:• Follow oral and written instructions.• Use arithmetic to figure amounts of product/materials needed, quantities needed and cost of products/materials.• Comply with all Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. policies and procedures. • Provides the highest quality of service of customers at all times.• Performs other related duties as assigned.Organization Structure and Interfaces: This position reports to the Manager, HR.To apply, please submit your resume to hropp@LRS.com. Candidate Requirements:- Minimum 2 years’ previous experience as a line grill cook with knowledge of breakfast and lunch short order cooking. Must have a IL Food Handler’s Certificate. - Permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer required. No visa sponsorships are available.
