The Technical Illustrator will:- Work with internal business leaders and serve as liaison between the IT organization and business units for the collection, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements to the IT organization. - Lead staff employees.- Design and create visual representations for the Information Systems Infrastructure and Services offered by IS Technology Services. - Work to render illustrations and detailed drawings for use in technical publications and manuals to help people understand and learn from complex technical information. - Use advanced computer programs to create illustrations. - Work on assignments to include creation, re-creation and revision of graphics, including and not limited to graphs, schematics, block diagrams, component part layout, service visualization to actual infrastructure and supporting materials. - Apply content from final build and test documents, as needed. - Apply company standards, business group templates/standards and industry standards and guides as applicable to documents. - Use standardized processes and workflows in a cross-functional team environment with online Document Management Systems (DMS) and Project Management Deliverables. - Work in conjunction with developers, support teams and technical writers to create a variety of technical graphics. - Take information from text or data and create illustrations that communicate this information concisely and accurately; this information could be technical content, installation instructions or diagrams for a service guide. - Support a team of Technical Writers in the development of illustrations to be included in new or revised documentation. - Support proposal teams in development of Request for Proposal (RFP) or Statement of Work (SOW) documentation. - Discuss requirements and agree on the outputs with development and support teams. - Talk with designers, technical authors and engineers to gain a better understanding of the infrastructure or service. - Visit business or data center locations to view the systems or equipment to be illustrated. - Create ideas that match the requirements and outputs. - Use drawing computer packages to create and produce technical graphics. - Participate in validations and verifications of technical documentation, as required. - Consult with their customers, seeking approval at all stages of development and making any changes as required, until gaining final approval.- Perform other duties as assigned.- Have a strong interest in and an understanding of Information Systems and infrastructure technology along with the management tools (Orion, SCOM, etc.) used to provide operational data.To apply, please submit your resume to hropp@LRS.com. - High School Diploma or GED required - 5+ years experience in a related technical role - Background in IT or Engineering - Understanding single-source Document Management Systems (DMS) and experience with all components of a DMS - Strong drawing skills within an Information Technology work environment - Experience in the use of software used to automate documentation development and revision - Strong computer skills that include Microsoft Office - Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Information Systems - Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)- Corp to corp candidates will not be considered
