The Database Administrator will: - Participate in the analysis and development of complex database designs, data models and relational data definitions in support of enterprise information system requirements (OLTP and OLAP). - Focuse on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design. Create logical and physical data models, mapping logical to physical. Create the schema scripts and execute the DDL to build the structures. - Analyze data requirements, application and processing architecture, data dictionaries, and database schema and then design, develop, optimize and certify database schema design to meet system requirements. - In conjunction with application developers, implement database objects (tables, indexes, procedures, functions, etc.) based on approved data models. - Act as the arbiter over the structure and contents of critical databases, establishing and enforcing rules, standards and guidelines. - Oversee the proper distribution and controlled replication of data across the enterprise. Identify opportunities to reduce data redundancy. - Ensure adequate security safeguards are in place to control access to all databases. - Maintain database dictionaries, standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design. - Perform application tuning and performance monitoring. - In conjunction with other areas within IT, define database backup and recovery plans. - Coordinate and monitor database reorganization schedules. - Implement data design enhancements and structure changes.To apply, please submit your resume to hropp@LRS.com. - 3+ years experience in Application Database Design and Administration- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment- Experience performing data modeling and database design- Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)- Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or DB2 zOS relational database systems preferred
