GE Healthcare provides transformational medical technologies and services that are shaping a new age of patient care. Accordingly, LRS and GE Healthcare have signed a reseller agreement in North American enabling GE Healthcare Centricity clients, including many of the world’s leading healthcare organizations, to ensure document delivery using industry leading output management solutions from LRS.
Central to the new VPSX for Centricity solution, GE Healthcare and LRS co-developed the VPSX/CI (Centricity Interface) module to seamlessly provide VPSX output management capabilities to GE Centricity environments. The new solution has been implemented to manage output from the GE Healthcare Centricity Business environment.
In one customer instance, the VPSX solution delivered sensitive documents directly from GE Centricity Business applications to Canon multifunction printers, placing each in secure mailboxes onboard the printer. Centricity users select landscape or portrait mode and enter a mailbox number prior to sending their print jobs. At the printer, a user logs in to access their mailbox and retrieve their print jobs. The solution also provides printer/job status notification, retains jobs for reprinting, and allows authorized operations staff to view documents and reports online in order to redirect jobs to other printers.
The GE Healthcare and LRS partnership has resulted in an output management solution that can be deployed and customized to the exacting needs of each customer. Current and new customers can enhance healthcare delivery, while minimizing costs and reliably delivering documents throughout the organization.
Clients in today’s healthcare industry often need to retain certain documents for prescribed periods of time as well as regulatory reasons to view certain documents online versus in printed form. The LRS web-based document storage and viewing solution seamlessly stores and indexes GE Healthcare Centricity-generated documents, and also supports customizing the search interface to display Centricity-specific document attributes when users search.
