A major Midwestern university implemented an LRS solution to deliver and convert Xerox output into PostScript for delivery to remote campus print centers via their TCP/IP network.

VPS/LCDS delivers print data to AnyQueue where a Crawford Technologies conversion seamlessly converts LCDS output to PostScript and routes the converted output from the data center to each remote campus print center. Distributed AnyQueue servers receive and decrypt secured transmissions from the main data center, and deliver the data to EPS controllers in each remote location.

Using AnyQueue/WebTRAC^®, operators are able to manage their remote printing operations environment from a single browser-based solution.

The solution quickly paid for itself and met the university's objectives, which included:

• Eliminating channel attached printers, connectivity, and operations overhead
• Migrating from older Xerox® devices to more efficient DT6115 and DT6135 DocuTech™units
• Enabling remote management of data stream transforms and print operations
• Reducing total costs related to production output
• Establishing a foundation to eliminate impact printers and encrypt output between locations
