PageCenter Web Access works with Web server software to allow users to view archive contents online using standard web browsers. Combined with PageCenter®, the Web Access client retrieves reports from the z/OS host archive while maintaining host security. The unique client/server architecture allows PageCenter Web Access to deliver a page or group of pages at a time to achieve fast browser viewing. The Web Access client provides intuitive navigation and a familiar page-like display. Users can print parts or an entire report to a local printer, network printer, or host printer.
The following PageCenter Web Access demo provides the opportunity to access and view a variety of reports and other documents currently retained in a PageCenter archive. All you need is a standard web browser. During the demonstration, several optional plug-ins can be installed to enable enhanced printing of report pages to local printers, viewing of AFP documents, as well as PCL and PDF viewing.
PageCenter Web Access runs with PageCenter on the z/OS (or OS/390) host and works with a web server on the platform of your choice. Please download the PageCenter White Paper for the details on how the solution works.
The underlying HTML display mechanism enables organizations to customize the appearance of the PageCenter Web Access interface by modifying the supplied HTML templates. This includes tailoring your choice of logos and colors, different help information, as well as use of multiple languages for specific groups of users, individuals, or enterprise-wide.
