VMCF Web Access

VMCF Web Access enables authorized end users throughout the organization to monitor and control document printing using Web browsers on any platform. VMCF Web Access users can display lists of the VPS®-defined printers they are authorized to control, and they can issue VPS commands.

VMCF Web Access runs on the OS/390 or z/OS mainframe and works with the Web server software and computer platform you prefer. A pair of utilities included with VMCF Web Access, LRS/Net and LRS/Web Connect, manage the communication between Web clients and VMCF Web Access.

  • LRS/Net runs on the OS/390 host and separates VMCF Web Access processing from the Web server environment. This enables you to use VMCF Web Access with the web server software and platform that best meets your organization's needs.

  • LRS/Web Connect runs inside Web servers on OS/390, Unix and Windows. It is a single executable that communicates incoming client requests to the LRS/Net application server and returns the HTML response.
To meet the needs of different users within your enterprise, you can customize the appearance of VMCF Web Access using HTML templates. Display different logos or colors, different help information and even different languages for groups of users or individuals.
