Springfield, IL – For the second consecutive year LRS Sports was a Par Sponsor at the American Football Coaches Foundation (AFCF) 2010 Randy Walker Power of Influence Golf Outing at the Ivanhoe Golf Club. The event was held June 28 at the Ivanhoe Golf Club in North Suburban Chicago with several staff from LRS Sports in attendance and on the golf course.
“LRS Sports continues to support the important work of the American Football Coaches Association Foundation because we believe in their mission of funding programs designed to improve the game and profession at all levels,” states Dan McCain, Senior Manager of LRS Sports. “The annual cost of the AFCA programs and benefits for each member is about $300 and annual dues cover only about $60. LRS Sports recognizes the importance of AFCA and its Foundation and its goal to raise funds to help offset those costs.”
The Randy Walker Power of Influence Golf Outing honors the memory of former Northwestern Head Coach, Randy Walker who helped bring about change in college football when he implemented one of the first spread offences. He helped the Wildcats’ bring the Big Ten Championship to Evanston in 2000.
Each year, an Illinois High School Coach is awarded the Randy Walker Coaches Award by the Randy Walker Family and the AFCF at the golf outing. This year’s recipient was Head Coach Randy Kuceyeski of Libertyville High School. Brian Kelly, Head Coach at University of Notre Dame was the featured guest speaker during the awards presentation and silent auction following golf.
