Stats: George Spencer played high school football in Westminster, Maryland and went on to play college football at Gardner Webb College, graduating with a B.S. degree. Spencer coached high school football for 36 years and retired in 2008.

Spencer began coaching high school football in Rock Hill, South Carolina then went to Georgia in 1984 to Ware County High School, and also coached at Riverdale and Effingham High Schools. His teams were in the state playoffs every year he served as head football coach. Spencer still holds a seat on the board of the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA). He’s received several achievement awards from the GACA including the Executive Director’s Award. Throughout his career, he’s coached many scholarship recipients, one who is in the NCAA Hall of Champions, and two NFL players.
