Job Description:

LRS is successfully partnering with a company in St. Louis, MO on an exciting endeavor. This endeavor is providing the opportunity for employment for an SQL Server DBA. This is a great opportunity to work with two great companies at the same time on a six month contract.

The SQL Server DBA will provide SQL Server Database Administration services to maintain and enhance Production systems in a federally regulated environment. They will assist in the migration from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005.

The day to day responsibilities for this DBA might include:
• Support business critical applications in a high availability server environment.
• Identify and resolve database problems on Win2000/2003 (AIX, Solaris) servers.
• Install/upgrade database software
• Perform system and database monitoring necessary to meet service levels
• Perform database tuning as needed to meet service levels
• Develop, test and implement reliable database backup/recovery strategies
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
• Assist application developers in application design and tuning
• Provide front-line database support for application developers
• Support the database users on an as-needed basis
• Work closely with Engineering and O/S System Administration
• Prepare and execute Qualification documents in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Follow Stand Operating Procedures in Incident Reporting and Change Management

This position is located in St. Louis, MO and candidates must be willing to reside in the area. Relocation compensation or per diem will not be available for this position. Therefore, the right candidate will be motivated to make a move on their own for this exciting role!

Requirements:

Candidates must have all of the required skills to be considered:
• A Minimum of 3 years experience working as a SQL Server DBA Experience with MS SQL Server (2000, 2003, 2005)
• Experience with MS Clustering software
• A minimum of 3 years experience (current) with enterprise backup solutions (i.e. EMC Legato, Vertias Netbackup).
• A minimum of 3 years experience with enterprise monitoring solutions (i.e. BMC Patrol).
• Experience supporting databases in a clustered and virtualized (i.e. VMWARE ESX) environment.
• Experience with Database Performance Monitoring and Tuning
• Experience with MS SQL Software Installations and Upgrades
• Experience with Unix and Windows Scripting
• Experience with SQL Query and Report Generation
• Experience with Database Replication
• Experience with High Availability & Disaster Recovery
• Must have strong documentation skills and proficient in use of Microsoft Office products.

Experience with one or more of the following is desired but NOT required:
• Oracle 9i /10g, 2+ years experience
• Experience maintaining Regulated Software with in a formal change control environment
• Experience with Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server
BS in Computer Science or related field
