LRS Consulting Services is seeking a SOC SAV Engineer for a 9 week contract in Reston, VA.

Role Summary:
-Work on billable engagements to provide support, advice and guidance on the correct application of a services/products/technology solution or technique.
-Design, develops and implements solutions by using standard methods, techniques and tools.
-Learn project management techniques by acting as a team leader on small projects/engagements or portions of larger projects (e.g., resource utilization, risk mitigation, financials, performance management, fulfilling appropriate project control requirements, etc.) Is recognized as an extremely knowledgeable resource in several technical domains.
-Design total system solutions for smaller projects/engagements or for portions of larger projects widely applies theories, concepts and systems integration fundamentals.
-Develop client support plans for complex systems and/or major projects.
-Identify follow-on business in client accounts and communicates these opportunities to management or account executives.
-Assist, as needed, in pre-sales efforts in addition to working on billable engagements.
-Develop further depth and expertise in their area of specialization (e.g., solutions specialization, project management, architectural design, etc.)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Firewall Engineer - This person will be responsible for providing tier 3-4 support of Symantec Antivirus Security solutions. Support of Symantec Antivirus and Symantec Endpoint Protection including scanning and mitigation support. Administration, troubleshooting and engineering of solutions is done daily in support of customer contracts.

- Must have a TSA Suitability Clearance, which means the candidate must have worked on a TSA project within the last 2 years.
- BS Degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 6 Years of Information Technology Experience / 2+ years Network Security Experience
- Experience with SEP10 and SEP11 (Symantec Endpoint Protection) in a 20K user environment – Troubleshooting, Reporting, Management/Monitoring
- Certified in Symantec or other vendors
- Should be proficient with Anti-Virus Software
- Experience in an operations center, or in an operations and maintenance role
- Hands-on experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Antivirus on servers and workstations.
- Strong understanding of networking
- Ability to administer enterprise solutions in the operations center
- Must work well with a group, be a team player
- Mentor junior staff
- Produce documentation
- May be required to be on-call and after hours work may be required
