VPSX Demo Guide

1. Login as webdemo \ Wdemo8
2. From the Printer List, select the Status tab. The list can be sorted by clicking on Printer or Name. To enforce periodic checking for status changes, a user can engage the Refresh Timer. The actual interval is set in Preferences.
   Note that the Type field identifies the communication method including LPD, IPP, PJL, SNMP, and secure access.
3. Check a printer and then select SNMP Info to display Printer information via SMNP communications.
4. Check a printer and hit Log to see the log messages for that printer. While viewing the Log, you can clear the filter field to see all messages for the server.
5. From the Printer List, select the Printer Info tab. Select the TCP/IP Address field for printer PS74148. This displays the printer's web page.
6. From the Printer List, select the Print Server tab. This view displays printers based on the associated VPSX server instance. Multiple VPSX servers and printers can easily be organized and controlled. Printer Groups further organize printers. Printer URLs are also diplayed in this view.
7. From the Printer List, select the Location tab. This view is helpful to helpdesk personnel as the descriptive printer information provides context and contact information for a printer.
8. Click on printer PS74135 (second link in the Printer column) to go to Printer Output Queue. Make sure you are on the Origin tab.
9. Here are printer details as well as details for any held jobs. Note the Origin column as well as Commands and powerful options such as Reroute, Release, Modify, etc. Sort this list by clicking on any column.
10. Optional: On printer PS74135 select a PCL job (Spool ID column) to view using Swiftview PCL viewer (must be installed).
11. Select the Retained Queue tab.
12. A reprint is as easy as checking one or more jobs and selecting Release.
13. Rerouting is as easy as checking one or more jobs and selecting Reroute.
14. Select the Stats tab to see timestamps for all activity involving a job.
15. Click Return to go back to the Printer List screen. Check printer PS74135.
16. Click on the Help to review what you have been looking at.
