LRS is capable of demonstrating various storage virtualization technologies including:
IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC)
Two-node SVC system managing 10 Terabytes for storage. The Storage systems managed by the SVC include a DS4800 and a DS6800. The SVC supports the storage environment for nine (9) different servers in the Innovation Center that includes Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and VMware Operating environments.
IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center (TPC)
TCP Standard Addition is implemented in a manner that demonstrates each component. This includes TPC for Disk, TPC for Data, and TPC for fabric. We provide monitoring for various products in our Innovation Center to give the customer perspective on what TPC can do in their environment.
IBM System i Integration With System x
LRS is capable of demonstrating System i integration with System x by using an Integrated PC Server adapter in a System I Model i520. We currently have a Windows 2003 server implementation in this environment.
System p Advanced Power Virtualization
LRS is capable of demonstrating System p Advanced Power Virtualization (APV) using a System p Model p520 server. This includes the demonstration of Partition Load Manager, Virtual I/O Server, and Micro-Partitions. LRS is also able to demonstrate the functionality of the Host Management Console (HMC) and Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) which are required to manage virtualization options.
System x Solutions
LRS is capable of demonstrating the following IBM System x server solutions:
- IBM Virtualization: Demonstration of VMware ESX, VMware VirtualCenter and IBM Director running on IBM System x servers and IBM BladeCenter.
- Microsoft SQL Server: Demonstration of Microsoft SQL Server running on IBM System x servers and IBM BladeCenter.
