LRS has been a proud sponsor of the Levi, Ray & Shoup NHRA Funny Car and Team Wilkerson since 1999.
Wilk ran his first alcohol funny car in 1990 and in 1996 he began his nitro funny car career. He was the first rookie funny car driver to go over 300 mph.
In 1999, he won his first race in Joliet, Illinois and won the famed US Nationals in September 2003.
More recently, Wilk found his way back to the Winner's Circle in Atlanta in 2015. One race later, he added his name to the impressive list of Funny Car drivers who have made sub-4 second laps, running 3.971 at Topeka. In 2016, the team won twice; at Phoenix, AZ and Concord NC. His career best e.t. is 3.844 (2017 Phoenix) and his career best speed: 333.74 (2016 Topeka).
One thing is for certain: Tim Wilkerson will never again be considered an underdog or an overnight sensation. He's now simply one of the best drivers and most talented tuners in the sport, with his LRS Shelby Mustang.
Keep up with Team Wilk here.
