Crisis Nursery is committed to creating an "Island of Safety" dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through the provision of emergency intervention, respite care and support to families in crisis. Having this new site will enable them to recruit more volunteers, increase online donations, share success stories, and encourage attendance at their annual events.

We are LRS Web Solutions, and we wanted to put our expertise at website design to good use for the community. So we launched this website makeover contest where you, the public, nominated and voted for a nonprofit organization to receive a complete $10,000 website makeover!

HERE WAS THE DEAL

• The nonprofit had to be an official 501(c)3 organization.
• It has to serve the greater community in central Illinois.
• It had to have an existing website that needed a complete makeover.

That’s basically it. There were some other rules and regulations that our legal department wanted us to share with you. You can still read them here.

We had nominations open for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, nominations were closed and a panel of judges selected 10 Finalists.

Then there was 2 weeks to vote. After the 2 weeks passed, the charity with the most votes won a brand new $10,000 website! A second place winner received a free online social media package, and a third place winner received a free online photo gallery.
