The Super Bowl. The World Cup Final. LeMans. The Masters. Wimbledon. In the world of sports, there are a lot of special events, but some are more special than others. And when it comes to drag racing, it doesn’t get much bigger than the NHRA U.S. Nationals, which is held the first weekend of September every year in Indianapolis. They don’t call it “The Big Go” for nothing.
Long-time readers of this Blog (and motorsports fans) are surely aware of LRS’ decades-long sponsorship of the Tim Wilkerson Racing team. Tim is a local hero here in our hometown of Springfield, Illinois, and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. So when he battled through round after round of tough competitors to win the premier NHRA drag race event, we here at LRS couldn’t have been prouder.
We at LRS work hard for our success, and we appreciate that “can-do” spirit in others. Even his competitors agree that no one in drag racing works harder than Tim Wilkerson. Because he knows that as a driver, he has to answer to his toughest critics: his crew chief and the team owner.
Hats off to our local hero and all-around great guy Tim Wilkerson as he keeps working toward a Championship this November in Pomona!
