The United States has almost 500,000 job openings in cybersecurity within both private sector and government agencies according to the latest poll! The biggest reason for all the unfilled positions is that not enough skilled people are available.

Finding skilled workers is the priority as hacks and data breaches are all too common. Sinclair Broadcast Group was the target of a ransomware attack that disrupted operations just this past weekend. Our local television station was one of the 185 television stations affected. Sinclair Broadcast Group is just one of many businesses that have recently found malware to encrypt data on their computer systems, making them useless.

Since the cyberattacks on the Colonial Pipeline in May and on meat supplier JBS a few weeks later, the U.S. government has stepped up efforts to combat cybercrime. Last week, the Biden administration ­concluded a two-day meeting on ransomware with more than 30 nations recognizing it as a global security threat and agreeing to work together to fight it.
