Live From South Africa: It’s LRS!

While LRS may not be the oldest or largest software provider, when it comes to output management, our roots run deep. With customers on every continent except Antarctica (so far), those roots have spread wide as well, circling the oceans and reaching from northernmost Scandinavia to the very tip of South Africa.

The South African market has always been a dynamic one, and LRS has been selling and supporting our products there for more than a quarter-century. Today, much of the IT excitement revolves around SAP, cloud transformation, and business process optimization—topics that play to the strengths of LRS’ product offerings.

Last week, LRS was a proud sponsor of the SAPHILA 2025 show in Sun City, South Africa. This major conference and exposition are organized every two years by AFSUG, the African SAP User Group. Staffing our booth was Austen Slattery, our Account Director responsible for the South African market assisted by Mark Miles-Kingston, LRS Technical Manager. The event was very well organized with plenty of opportunity for delegates and sponsors to mingle and discuss solutions for SAP.

According to Austen Slattery, “There was a high level of interest in our print and scan solutions for SAP, particularly as there are several impending deadlines relating to organizations who are moving to the cloud with SAP.” Visitors to the LRS booth showed a refreshing openness to discuss their business challenges and were eager to learn how LRS software had helped peer organizations face similar challenges.

The consensus from the LRS team was that it was a good investment of time and effort, and LRS looks forward to attending the next SAPHILA event in two years’ time. “LRS is increasing our investment in the South African market to build strong partnerships and to strengthen our presence,” explains Slattery.

“We are now 18 months into this renewed effort to expand our presence, and our staff have certainly learned a lot over this time. South Africa is a very important market for LRS as there is a large SAP community, which a strong area for LRS technology in every global region. We’ve deepened our ties with the major print vendors and digital transformation providers in the South African market, which bodes well for our future success.”
